Hilarious Storybooks and Art

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

Hilarious storybooks and art--it makes my day just to say those words! I hope you are reading this because you would love to experience some hilarious storybooks and art for children.

After thirty-plus years of teaching art to kindergarten through 8th grade students, I can honestly say, telling art jokes, stories and creating art with kids is hilarious. I scooped up what I think are the joyful parts of teaching art and began the journey of creating ways to share it all with you. So you find me here on my website with fun things like joke books, silly famous artist storybooks and more to entertain and enlighten kids about the beautiful world of art.

I have learned a lot about kids and their laughter, sadness and the incredible human beauty of their souls along my journey. I hope in this blog I can relate some morsels of wisdom about how we can all encourage kids to love life and let art be one way to make their world more meaningful and beautiful. I believe in short/sweet blogs. You won't find amazing grammar here. I like to write on this blog how I talk when I teach art.

So. Are you ready for my art quote face off? I take a quote from a famous artist and then I re-write it as my quote! Yes. Vincent Van Gogh is an artist I love and teach a lot about. Here is one my favorite quotes of his.

HIS QUOTE

"There is nothing so truly artistic as loving people."

MY QUOTE

"Like art, there is nothing so incredibly messy as loving people. Beautifully messy."

And finally an ART JOKE taken from one of my books--

Why did the artist crack-up while they painted the landscape scene?

Because it was HILL-AREAS!

See? It's a better day when you laugh, isn't it? Share that joke with a kid and see if it

brings a smile.

Blessings.

Elaine

PS--NONE of this blog post was written using AI! That's right. Little old human me did it creatively by myself. It's wonderfully imperfect.
